Santa Clara County Law Library


The library will be closed Friday, September 22nd for Native American Day.

The law library is currently open Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm. Our front doors will remain locked, but please ring the doorbell or call the front desk at 408-299-3568 and a staff member will be at the door shortly. Access will be granted for legal research only. You must be utilizing either the library's books or databases to use the law library. Studying for the bar exam is also allowed. Masks are recommended.

From home you may check out 1 ebook at a time (7 day checkout period). To read multiple ebooks (or see books that may currently be checked out on someone else's patron account) you may access ebooks using the parking lot wi-fi and the guest login.

For patron access from home, use your email address to log in. If you have checked out a book from the library semi-recently, you are already in the system. If you are not already in the system, please email the circulation desk at circdesk@sccll.org. A library card is not required to access ebooks. Please contact us and we will be happy to set you up with an account!

The Trellis database is now available inside the law library. You can use Trellis on your laptop or wireless device on the library's wi-fi, or from the library's computer terminals. Trellis provides state court trial documents (including Santa Clara County): rulings, dockets, documents, verdicts, judicial bios and analytics.
